Barbara Bayless Close '67, attended the Palm Beach Day School from third through twelfth grade. Both of her parents, Robert and Carol Bayless, were also teachers at Palm Beach Day. She earned a B.S. in mathematics from DePauw University and an M.S. in Mathematics and Computers at Nova University. She is currently working on a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from Florida Atlantic University, while teaching Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, PreCalculus, and computers to grades 6-9. Most importantly, she is a life-long Pelican. Hilary Beesch Mendoza '71, a native Floridian, attended the Palm Beach Day School from sixth through ninth grade. She attended Georgetown University and the University of Florida earning degrees in Foreign Service, German History, and Social Studies Education. She is currently working on a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from Florida Atlantic University, while teaching 7-9th grade history, 8th grade English, and coaching. Most importantly, she is a life-long Flamingo.
